Insertion and Removal

Jadelle® is a progestin-only contraceptive to be inserted with a disposable trocar with CE mark just under the skin of the non-dominant upper arm in the shape of a narrow V. It consists of two sterile, flexible silicone-based rods in a disposable applicator. Each rod is 43 mm long, 2.5 mm in diameter and contains 75 mg of levonorgestrel.

The insertion is done under local anesthesia with the disposable trocar. After insertion Jadelle® continuously releases levonorgestrel and provides contraception for up to 5 years.
